Sail Around the World Fractional Ownership Program

Here at Latitudes and Attitudes we created the share the sail concept for people who wanted to see if sailing cruising was right for them, without all the associated costs of heading out there. It worked! Over the past ten years, we have introduced thousands of people to the cruising lifestyle. Now we are really expanding that option to the next level. Would you believe that you could participate in an around the world sailing adventure on YOUR BRAND NEW Beneteau 57 or Shannon Global 52 at a fraction of the cost. It’s true, Latitudes and Attitudes has formed the world’s first sailing global fractional ownership program called SEAFARING360.

Through our Magazine and other marketing efforts, we help you find 5 other owners for a new Shannon Global 52 or Beneteau 57, whichever you choose. We then plot a course to sail her around the world over the next 4 years. From New England to the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, around the Pacific, across the Indian Ocean and up into the Med, and back to the Caribbean. Over the course of the 4 years, each owner self selects about 8 weeks each year when they want exclusive use in the various ports and or ocean crossings and passages. And it doesn’t all have to be at one time, you can divide it up how ever you want. You never have to meet or see the other owners if you don’t want to. Oh, did we mention there would be a licensed Captain aboard to ensure the boat is safe and maintained to the highest standards? Well not only will it be a Captain but it could be any of our ocean passage qualified staff. It could be Captain Woody, Tania Aebi, John Kretchsmer, Editor Sue, or Bob and Jody. Hey we want to have fun too!

If you and another partner are friends (or make friends!), you can join each other on your legs.  Don't forget, the boat will have two owner's cabins!  Get twice as much sea-time! Or you can even go halves with a friend on a 1/6th share.

And we’ve even gone high tech on you by being able to select online which legs and sailing grounds in which you want to sail your boat. At any time you’ll be able to login to our online scheduler specifically developed by the fractional ownership guru Grant Headifen of Nautic7, and make reservations for any of the ocean passages or ports. Nautic7 uses similar scheduling technology to drive the Beneteau coastal Fractional Ownership Program. Of course, you’re sharing the time with 5 others but not the boat. It’s yours when you’ve reserved her.

The cost? Funny you should ask. For the Beneteau 57, (see Sailing Magazines review of the Beneteau 57) you'll buy just 1/6th of the $1,075,300 price tag at $179,000. For the Shannon, you’ll own title to 1/6th of a $1.5 million custom built world cruiser, with all the comforts of home! Through out the 4 years you’ll only pay 1/6th of the operating costs. From our mounds of world crusing experience, we're estimating the opertaing costs to be around $1600 per person per month. This includes, insurance, captain's salary, a concierge logistics manager, etc. Now that’s a deal and we don't mark anything up - you just pay your share of the actual operating costs which is managed by an independant financial manager. At the end of 4 years the boat will be sold and the proceeds divided between the partners, or at their option, it will be extended. It’s up to the partners.
